Dom Veron: News

"Doves" is track of the week on Garageband.com - 6 July 2008

"Doves" is TRACK OF THE WEEK on Garageband.com
Following on from some succes with radio and stuff in America I've been fortunate enough to have my song "Doves" voted track of the week in the Americana section of Garageband.com which is the world's largest independent music website.

I've been getting some pretty good feedback on the website and the track of the week thing has come about as a result of being voted for by my peers which is great.

If you go here from monday 7th July onwards for a week you will find me in the Americana section (menu bar on left hand side):

ALbum release delayed - 27 February 2008

Thanks to everyone who has shown an interest in the release of "Oskaloosa", you're support is greatly appreciated. Regretfully, there will be a delay of a few months in the release of the album due to Dom wishing to build more of a "buzz" through the live performances of the band. There have also been unavoidable delays due to time constraints. Also, we are hoping to be able to release a video with at least one of the songs as a promo so all in all it was felt there was no point in rushing, everybody rushes too much these days anyway! If you would like further information on release dates or gigs get in touch with the website! ;-)

Album to be titled "OSKALOOSA" - 20 February 2008

As you may have seen from the front page, the album title will be "Oskaloosa". The title is the name of a town in America which was the birthplace of Dom's favourite ever TV character!

THE ALBUM and DEBUT PERFORMANCE - 20 February 2008

It looks like the album will be ready and available (in all good record shops!) in April. Jeff Jepson is currently mastering and artist Darren Marsh (see the links page) is finishing the artwork. The album launch will be on April 4th in Earlestown, Merseyside and we are trying to get more gigs all the time. We are using the "trickle" rather than "flood" method. The band are almost ready to go and have a totally new dynamic since the addition of guitarist Stuart Ross. The band are very much looking forward to performing live for the first time on March 6th in Chorlton's favourite Antipodean haunt "Uluru".

Album Completion News - 14 November 2007

Dom is finishing recording and mixing the album next week with Jeff Jepson, who will be on producing and helping out with various instrumentation. This follows recording sessions in Summer 2006 with Jeff in Liverpool and at The Treehouse Studio in Southport with Martin Mcguffie.

There will be two new songs (yet to be recorded) called "A Storm Is Gonna Come" and "Hellhounds On My Trail" as well as the previous live favourites(see below). The new band will be appearing on the two new tracks and two artists have been asked to paint an album cover.
There is no album name yet but the full album listing will be as follows (not in order):

Hallelujah
Doves
Let Me Be
Beautiful You
Feeling
Hellhounds On My Trail
A Storm Is Gonna Come
Down The River
Guns And Dust
Breakdown Blues

NEW ALBUM FEBRUARY 2008 - 15 October 2007

At the moment, Dom is busy rehearsing and recording with his new band, The Ribeiros. This follows exhaustive efforts to find people who:

a)could committ long term

b)lived within 200 miles

c)liked the music

and finally....

d)play an instrument

There are 6 tracks which could go on the album as a finished job tomorrow. There are another 5 that need to be remixed before they're right and there are another 2 , at least, to record. When that's all done, the music will be available as a full album on Itunes and cdbaby. Domveron.com has also taken a fair bit of time as has keeping on top of myspace.com/domveron. By FEBRUARY 2008 the album should be completed and the band will be gigging. In the meantime anybody wanting an extended version of the tunes that are available in the music section on here should e-mail admin@domveron.com
