Dom Veron: BIO

A child of the grunge era who grew up obsessed with the Blues and came to love all things Americana, Dom Veron has written 6 studio albums and appeared on 5 different record labels in the UK and Europe. Born and raised in rural Hereford, Dom taught himself to play at the age of 12 or 13 on a guitar borrowed from his Uncle. Raised again in Liverpool, he eventually ended up in China, picking up wisdom, great music and bad habits along the way. In between he lived in London, signed a recording contract with a label in Italy, worked on farms in his beloved Herefordshire, started writing a book, gave up on and forgot all of the above, took up Tai Chi, forgot his manners, remembered them and apologised, met someone who would change his life and wrote lots of songs. He eventually decided that it was all about music and everything else was a distraction.

Since having his Damascene moment Dom has played live to over a million people on BBC radio, enjoyed further airplay in New York, California and North Carolina in the US and in the UK on regional stations in Manchester, Liverpool, London and the West Midlands. He has also appeared with previous bands on BBC and Channel 4 TV in the UK and won several awards as a solo artist on the internet's largest independent music site Garageband.com, including track of the week and best vocals. Artists currently informing Dom’s style include Johnny Cash, John Lee Hooker, Link Wray, Nina Simone, Neil Young, Lightning Hopkins, Aretha Franklin, Boo Hewerdine, Tom Waits, Muddy Waters and Jimmie Rodgers but he also enjoys good pop, bad rock and most folk. Outside of music John Steinbeck, Cormac McCarthy, David Mitchell, Taoism, The Wire and Katsushika Hokusai have had a bigger influence than most.

Now, aged somewhere around 30 and firmly planted in Manchester, Dom spends all his time making music, either by himself or with any number of the people he is fortunate enough to work with on a daily basis. He has met lots of amazing people as a result of his musical obsession and if he had his time again the only thing he would change is his hourly rate…
